Two doors open showing the inside of a room. The are two blue sofa seats. Above the seats there are 18 Linea Black frames from Frame X. Each frame has different photos from a family wedding.

The Curious Case of the Empty Wall

There are many mysteries in life.

Why socks disappear in the washing machine,. Why restaurant menus always make burgers sound magnificent but deliver something resembling damp cardboard. And why perfectly respectable homes across Britain contain at least one wall that is completely . . . empty.

It sits there. Blank. Judging you.

An empty wall is a missed opportunity. It's a bit like buying a Ferrari and only driving it to the post office once a year. The space exists for a reason - and that reason is to display something meaningful.

This is where a gallery wall comes in.

Before you picture a chaotic jumble of frames that looks like someone fell into a picture shop and taped everything to the wall, relax. A good gallery wall is actually quite simple.

Start with a few photographs that mean something. Family, travel, the dog looking majestic in a patch of sunlight. Choose frames that complement the room rather than shout over it. Black frames tend to feel modern and calm. Lighter frames soften the look if the room is already bold.

Then arrange them like a puzzle.

Lay them out on the floor first. Shuffle them around until it looks balanced. Then transfer the arrangement onto the wall.

Suddenly, the once awkward wall becomes a conversation piece. And the best part? Every time you walk past it, you're reminded of the moments that matter.

Which is rather better than staring at a patch of paint.
